Wednesday March 11

This morning we talked about hand washing and being clean. Basic stuff to help remain healthy. We also talked about the field trip tomorrow. Then the class worked on a math activity that is being used as an assessment. This is very similar to the kinds of questions we have worked on the past week. It was all about communicating understanding of multiplication and number sense. More time will given to complete this as we had to go to music and gym. When back in the room the class worked on their paragraph about why their historic Canadian should be considered for the $5 bill. There are a few students who will finish this on their own time now.

In the afternoon, the class worked on writing their summary of the Refugee book from one of the characters. They were able to see a model of how their article could be written and the kinds of information to include. They were to complete the graphic organizer to jot down the important facts and events, then begin writing their rough copy in their notebooks. When they are happy with their rough draft, they will begin writing the good copy on the lined paper to be glued into their visual journals.

To end the day both grades had health.

Reminders:
- bring a lunch that does not require heating and a bottle of water
- we will bring our visual journals and a pencil
- if you ordered special lunch your will be in the fridge to be taken home at the end of the day
